Your piece was great. I read too many stories about parents saying that they have no control over what their kids access, but as you point out, they do. The "videohead" parent I referred to in my piece once told me that her kid "had to" watch shows because how else could she cook dinner? Or shower? And I thought, funny, I seem to be able to do both of those things without parking my kid in front of a screen! Yes, they often annoyed the heck out of me, but they also learned to amuse themselves with their own brains and a pile of spatulas.
